Orange Dinner

We had company on Tuesday night and I got on a kick to make everything orange. It stared with "Sunshine Chicken." I then realized I had the ingredients for an orange dessert, so I had my husband pick up some orange soda on his way home from work.

Cooking is sooo much fun!

Special ingredients to make the rice orange flavored. Orange juice and some other yummy spices.

Curry powder on the chicken, which goes right into the rice and orange sauce mixture to cook.
And a yummy orange dessert: a pretzel bottom, a cream cheese & sugar middle and an orange gelatin, mandarin, pineapple top.

Irony: Gourmet Sloppy Joes

We were looking through our cookbooks to make our grocery list when my husband came across a special kind of sloppy Joe. It was in a Better Homes and Gardens 30-min or Less cookbook.  So, it seemed easy and he wanted to try it. How could I say no?

There was no ketchup in the recipe, rather tomato sauce and bulgur. I ended up having to substitute the bulgur because we couldn't find any, but they still came out rather good.

Believe it or not, we discovered that the order you layer the sandwich is important. We tried some more practical stacking, but the flavor got messed up. It has to be romaine on the bottom, then the meat and some Feta Cheese to top it off. They were pretty yummy!

Rainy Engagement Session

It rained all day long! However, that didn't stop this photographer from going out with her camera.

I checked the weather yesterday and knew the forecast was wet. So, I contacted the sweet couple whose session was today and they were up for pictures, rain or shine. God was so good to only let it drizzle! Here are some of their shots.

July will be here before you know it! I can't wait till your wedding, but I bet I'm not as excited as the two of you!

Album Sample

I finally have a sample! I offer these leather flush-mount albums for my wedding packages and my sample came yesterday. They are rather expensive, so I have been waiting to get it. They are beautifully crafted. The pages are thick with a photo paper finish and the cover is real leather.

My husband and I have a similar album from our wedding. It's a very nice keepsake!

Floral Paradise

On our trip, we visited a garden center and I got to see some really neat flowers!

There was also supposed to be a butterfly garden, but we only found caterpillars.

And we found this fruit tree!

Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice

Oranges, oranges, oranges. We got oranges and some fresh squeezed orange juice on our trip. The juice was amazing! Since my parents bought a REALLY BIG bag, they shared some with my husband and I. We peeled one, but used the others to make a very scrumptious refreshment!

Usually, I'm not even an orange juice fan.

Four is Fun!

I had an AWESOME time taking pictures of this beautiful 4-year old girl today. She was such a ham and made my job really fun!

Thank you so much!

Nothing Terrible About Being TWO

I went to the ocean last Wednesday to Saturday and got to visit with my favorite nephew. He is absolutely adorable and I miss him SO much already. Here are a few of my favorite pictures of him from the trip.

Here he is on his new bike from "Gamma" and "Pop-Pop," my parents. Getting on his bike was the first thing he did every morning I was there.

He was great at the beach! He LOVED the water and went in even though he wasn't dressed for it.

He got to pick sea-shells with "Aubwee" and "Pop-Pop" to put in his bucket. Aubwee is what he usually calls my sister instead of mom.

You can ask him to find himself in the mirror and sure enough...

We put him in a BIG flower pot when we visited a garden center. We all got a kick out of it!

Since we missed celebrating his birthday, we had cake for him again. He LOVED his CARS birthday candles.

This is my FAVORITE shot from the trip. I had been trying to get this picture and was so pleased when he finally paused long enough.
