Alex and Lenny - 03.25.2011

Friday I shot my first wedding for 2011. It was a cold, but beautifully sunny day.

Alex and her two sisters took classes at the same dance studio I went to growing up. And - our families went to the same church. So, we've known each other for awhile.

I was super excited when she asked me to do her wedding photos. Not only is she stunning, but her family consists of some of the kindest people I know.

We ended up a little crunched for time, but I think we still managed to get some beautiful shots.

Alex and Lenny - thank you so much! I hope you enjoy your preview!

(You can see some more pictures of Alex and Lenny's wedding on Facebook @ the Megan Hampton Photography Fanpage.)

The groom's wedding gift was a beautiful bracelet.

It was SO cold!

This is one of my favorites!

This is not a photoshop effect.

Fruits of Labor

I just came across this photo of my dad and I love it. You see, my dad is a really hard-working guy. I have lots of memories of him slaving away - working on the house he and my mom built, plowing the driveway from heavy winter snow and even fixing my car on several occasions. I guess he is also the "jack-of-all trades" kind of man.

He and my mom have worked very hard for everything they have and are a great example of what hard work can do.  This picture is my dad collecting some of the garden veggies last summer. What a neat representation of how some of their hard work pays off.

St. Pat's

Some of you may remember my St. Patrick's Day inspiration from last year's post "Oh the Irish."

It's odd to look back at posts, I can tell I was trying way to hard to be a good blogger. I still don't think I know what to do with this blog. It's hard for me to just put things out there, especially without making them look and sound just right.

Anyway, this year I had to work all day, but I planned ahead. I got up early and made some Green Eggs and Ham for Seth and I (spinach omelets with ham and cheese). These were inspired by my Food Magazine and were pretty good. Mind you, I'm not a big lover of Spinach.

I also did corned beef and cabbage, but in the crock pot. It smelled so good when I walked in the door; it was hard to wait for Seth to get home so he could dig in with me.

I had so much fun tinting the cake batter last year, I whipped out some cupcakes yesterday in a light shade of green.

I have barely any Irish in my blood, but I just love the day!

Birthday

I had a great birthday!! Some of my cousins also traveled to my parent's and we got to visit with them as well.

The gals spent the day weaving baskets, yes that is actually one my mom's favorite past times. She is a very talented, creative lady. I'm blessed to have someone who does so many cool things; like weaving, painting, gardening and canning, cooking...

The guys, though I didn't snap any pictures, went outside to tap trees to make syrup. They collected 90 gallons of sap in two days, which may make 2 gallons of syrup.

In the evening we had my mom's stuffed shells and followed dinner with a delicious Cannoli Cake. It's one of my favorites!

Here are some shots from the day. Please don't forget, tomorrow is the last day to call and receive $24 off your session!

Pride and Joy

I have been wanting to have some sort of a program for capturing the milestones in a baby's first year of life. I am excited to announce "Pride and Joy."

When parents enroll their baby in "Pride and Joy," they will be signing up for 5 sessions with Megan Hampton Photography: newborn, 3 month, 6 month, 9 month and 1-year portraits.

To kick-off this program, I am giving a handmade blanket and baby hat to the first family that enrolls their baby. I'm so excited!!!

Birthday Deal!

In 2 days I will celebrate my 24th birthday! I am going home to visit with some of my family and eat some of my mom's awesome Cannoli Cake.

This year I also get to renew my driver's license and ditch my old one, which had a less than flattering photo.

Anyway, in order to celebrate with you - I will be offering a $24 discount to anyone who calls to book a session between now and next Wednesday (the 9th). This discount is available for regular portrait and senior sessions. Your appointment must take place before June 1st.
